• A one of a kind, symmetrical fused glass decor bowl in color blocks and a grid pattern. White and blue with accents of striated orange and yellow, metallic dichroic, black stringers, orange and ice blue clears. Created by first creating and designing a pattern, precisely cutting pieces of glass to perfectly fit, then covering with a layer of clear glass to ensure strength and color protection, it was then fused and annealed for over 24 hours in a glass kiln.?
• After all pieces have fused together into a strong and solid flat panel, it is fired overnight once again contoured over a stainless steel form. This bowl can be used as service ware since the clear covers the other glass colors and dichroics however it is truly meant as a stand alone decorative piece or vase. Light catches the colors in this piece brilliantly and the dichroic glass accents have a stunningly shimmery golden sheen.?
• (See pics) This bowl is approximately 5" at highest point, about 6.5" wide, 8.5" on the diagonal. This is handcrafted glass, therefore occasional small bumps, bubbles, smudges appear as the glass is fused and formed. I like to think of them as maker marks that showcase that this is a handmade one of a kind item.?
• Cities are a fascinating subject matter and the order and chaos have often inspired me as a glass artist. Since, urban areas are defined by grids, my color block fused glass pieces often incorporate the colors, grids and shapes seen in any large city. Perfect decor for an urban home, for a midcentury or interior design lover or for a minimalist inspired space or home.?
• This piece shows best with light or sunlight shining through. The bold pattern juxtaposes with the soft undulating curves that were created while contour fired over a form. This statement piece has been annealed slowly for strength, this piece will last for generations to come.
